What Is a Frenum?

In the mouth, a frenum or frenulum is a piece of soft tissue that runs in a thin line between the lips and gums. It's present on the top and bottom of the mouth. And at summer camp.. my frenum ripped and I no longer had a connection from the top to my gum so that felt weird. Good thing your mouth heals on it own. So thankfully mine grew back.
